Shoes!

We have some good friends who have a little girl just a few weeks older, but significantly bigger than Myra. So when Kate grows out of clothes, Daphne brings me a big bag full! So fun! Yesterday was such a day and the bag included two pair of cute sandals. Myra hasn't been wearing shoes. I am a big proponent of letting kids go barefoot. There is a lot of research (blah, blah, blah)... Anyway, Myra spotted those shoes, made a beeline for them and immediately tried to put them on her feet!I put them on her, and surprisingly, they fit! She motored around in them all evening and objected most strongly every time I tried to take them off her.

That's my girl!

Thanks Oma!!

Oma came to visit us last weekend and besides bringing me some yummy wool, she also brought fresh veggies from home gardens, See's Peppermints (my favorite!), and some homemade jam. As you can see, Logan LOVES jam.He does not, however like to have his picture taken...
"What, lady??"

TWBA: The Quiz...

Weirdly (and a little uncomfortably) accurate. Not bad for a quiz that only has 5 questions...

The True You Values Harmony

You want your girlfriend or boyfriend to be more relaxed, calm, and composed.

With respect to money, you spend as little as possible.

You think good luck will definitely be yours, someday.

The hidden side of your personality tends to be satisfied to care for things with a minimal amount of effort.

You are tend to think about others' feelings a lot, perhaps because you are so eager to be liked.

When it comes to finding a romantic partner, you base your search on information from your friends.

Dinnertime!

It is so nice that she so obviously appreciates my cooking. And in case you were wondering - here are all six of her teeth.
She's never eaten babyfood (by her choice, not mine), so last night she had spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread. And cleaned her plate.

At least something was clean...

First steps!

Myra took her first steps yesterday. She headed straight for Daddy! Of course, the camera wasn't at the ready, so here she is standing tall today. She's going to love me for this picture when she's 16... Heh heh.

Helping

Logan is such a good helper. Here is his place setting at the table. Monkey helped, too.I think that he and I may have different ideas about appropriate utensils...

Still too hot...

but we went to the church picnic anyway. We really had a lot of fun! So much so, that I only took a few pictures!

Here's Myra and Mitch, hanging out before the fun really got going.
Hayley and her crew making sure that everything was perfect. It was!
Logan had the hardest time deciding what to do first! Bounce house? Balloons? Pinata? Hay Ride? Waterslide Bounce house? So many choices!!
Myra pigs out on fried chicken and watermelon.
Logan had carrots and apples - and cupcakes, of course.
We had a ball!

Why??

... is it so freaking hot? I'm with Mitch. We can't live here anymore. Yesterday Logan and I burnt our feet walking on the driveway. Utterly ridiculous.

So, today we hit the Splash Park in a sad attempt to find something outdoors to do that would not make us all want to die. Rachel and Kyle joined us there. It actually was fairly pleasant as long as you were either in the shade or in the direct path of a spray of water.
Myra and Logan don't enjoy being sprayed in the face.
But both really had fun either way!
Hmmm. This could be interesting... That looks like a drain, but actually is a sprinkler that just isn't on at the moment. The water features rotate every few minutes. Myra got a bit of a surprise when that one came on!
Logan. Chillin.
Myra liked to hang out in the shade under the bench. Who can blame her?
